P/N: MNTFIX01

Our mounting fixture was engineered to allow 6mm composite calibration plates to be mounted securely and flexibly on tripods, frames and/or extrusions. This allows the user to repeatedly capture high quality calibration datasets in fixed-camera settings providing good image coverage and foreshortening which is crucial for good calibration results. Slight motion blur and synchronization issues seen with handheld captures are effectively eliminated.

The mounting fixture is CNC machined from solid aluminium and consists of two parts: a backer and a base plate. The backer is fixed to the back of the calibration plate using a high-strength adhesive which is included in the kit. The base plate can be joined using the included high-strength M5 bolts and key.

Our mounting fixture features four tripod threaded holes and holes perfectly located for quick release plate alignment pins. Using the alignment pin and/or multiple screws is essential to keep plates from unscrewing. Alternatively, the unused area of the base plate can easily be drilled and tapped for user-specific mounting.

For calibration plates from 600x400mm and up, we recommend using a video, fluid-head tripod with at least 8kg load capacity. Smaller plates will work great on still camera tripods.
