Calib Capture

Free Camera Acquisition and Calibration Software

Our Capture application is a cross-platform desktop tool for USB3 Vision and GigE Vision cameras. It streamlines camera discovery, image acquisition, and calibration workflows in labs and on the factory floor.

  • Calibio Capture — live camera preview and controls
  • Calibio Capture — calibration pattern view
  • Calibio Capture — captured image set ready for export

Capture runs natively on Windows and Linux, and is free for commercial and non-commercial use, making it ideal for OEMs, integrators, and research teams who need reliable calibration image capture.

Built for repeatable calibration and acquisition

Capture brings structure and repeatability to your image acquisition and calibration process. Instead of ad-hoc scripts and one-off tools, operators work in a highly performant desktop UI with support for many camera interfaces, session management, live image quality inspection, and more.

Whether you are testing a new imaging module, calibrating a multi-camera rig, or running production-line checks, Capture keeps your camera control, acquisition, and export steps in one place.

Key features

Multi-vendor camera support

Connect to USB3 Vision and GigE Vision cameras through a flexible backend that supports Aravis and GenICam-based producers, so you can work with a wide range of industrial cameras.

Session-aware workflow

Use a guided new-session dialog to define metadata, choose output locations, and create directory structures automatically, keeping every acquisition session organized and traceable.

Live focus and metrics

Preview camera feeds, adjust focus, exposure and gain, and monitor progress with responsive viewing widgets designed for multi-camera, multi-vendor setups.

MCS

If available, Calib's motorized calibration stand (MCS) is fully integrated and can be programmed and run from within Calib Capture.

Why teams choose Capture

  • Standardizes camera bring-up and calibration across multiple sites and teams.
  • Reduces operator time compared to manual capture tools and ad-hoc scripts.
  • Improves traceability with session metadata and structured output folders.
  • Ready for both low-volume lab use and high-throughput manufacturing lines.
  • Free for commercial and non-commercial use, with no per-seat fees or runtime royalties.

MCS - Blazing calibration captures

Capture integrates with Calib's Motorized Calibration Stand (MCS) to automate camera calibration and verification workflows. Instead of the tedious manual "checkerboard dance", Calib MCS executes precise, programmable motions, allowing users to capture full high quality calibration data sets in under a minute.

With Calib MCS, you can run consistent tilt and rotation sweeps, perform multi-camera or stereo calibration runs, and dramatically cut operator time while improving repeatability and measurement confidence.
